1st of 2024, The Turn of The Key, by Ruth Ware

After a few months hiatus, we are back at our book club! One of us moved. The other had a child's wedding to tend to. In the meantime, we were able to travel and meet each other for a long weekend. It was great.

Ok so, our first book selection for 2024 is The Turn of the Key - author Ruth Ware is known for "twisty mysteries" and we agree! We have both finished the book, loved it, but haven't done our "talk" yet. Busy! Thus, here's a review, even as we move on to our next book, which will be another by Ruth Ware.

Nanny's name is Rowan.

Sandra and Bill Elincourt are parents of 14 yr old Rhiannon, 8 yr old Maddie and 5 yr old Ellie. They live in a remote area in an old Victorian house that locals say is haunted.

Jack is the handyman who lives in the flat above the garage.

Jean is the maid who lives elsewhere; comes in and tidies up, leaves & comes twice/day.

Mr. Elincourt is a tech whiz who has rehabbed the house into a "smart house" with cameras and intercom systems, plus lights and Hvac are controlled by smart phones, either inside the home or from afar. The Elincourts are a husband/wife architect team/business and travel often. Thus the live-in nanny.

It was a well written book, with twists that kept us guessing. The end was quite...Wow . Highly recommend
